How does ProntoPass want you to study for and pass the MPJE?

This is where it gets interesting and really helpful and will separate those who pass the MPJE and those who do not.  Start with the State Law Review.  These are our questions and answers specific to each state.  Memorize them well, really well, and remember the topic covered.  These questions represent what we believe are the most important topics to know.

More people fail the MPJE the first time than those who take NAPLEX.  There are multiple reasons for this but I believe that the biggest reason is because of a shift to K type questions.   I personally believe that if you can’t get many K type questions correct, you will not pass the MPJE.

Our approach is simple, fun, and fast.  Memorize our state questions and answers then scan the statutes looking for those topics.  When you find one, stop your scan and read and highlight that whole topic then go back to the scan mode when the topic changes.  This is fun and fast.  It is fun because when you find a topic it is an ah-ha happy moment and makes the find easy to remember.  It is fast because you can do 100 pages of statutes per hour, minus stop and highlight time.  But, the first day is HARD as you learn to scan not read.  Scan means reading  a sentence at a time, not a word at a time.  The first day you catch yourself reading a word at a time….it is hard.  The second day goes really well and is worth the effort.  Never read the statutes!  Usually two times a year I have someone fail and want a refund as they say they did it my way.  Instead they read all the statutes and highlighted a sentence here and an interesting sentence there and memorized nothing.  You will memorize topics and get K type questions correct. The in depth knowledge of a topic is what gets K type questions correct.

It helps if you have a study buddy and learn to scan for important topics.  How many topics did you find your first time through?  Compare notes. It is work but it is also fun.  It also builds an interest in the law and makes it more memorable.  One question is the same on every state:  Does this state require you to follow USP compounding standards?  If yes, you must go through and memorize the UPS compounding Quickards and fold and self test.  It helps to do the next thing:  Memorize and fold and self test on the MPJE Quickcards.

Next:  Memorize our Federal Q & As.  The DEA manual provided is the Fed law for control drugs.  Then you must understand the exceptions that some states impose.

Next get familiar with CDC guidelines for vaccinations and immunizations.  Some states say pharmacists can do this one and that one.  If the state does not mention this topic, it is my opinion that a qualified pharmacist can give them all as long as they follow CDC guidelines.

The day before your test, review all items highlighted in your state statutes so you can get those K type questions correct.

While the MPJE can at times be hard study, it can also be fun and fast!  Wishing you well.  Study as we suggest.  No shortcuts.
